Film is not dead, it just smells funny!

I don’t know where I read this quote or who is the author but I just love it!
Perhaps only someone who has developed film can understand the quote fully. Just as the saying goes: “I love the smell of fixer in the morning”
Anyways, is really seems that film is not dead, even if some projects to revive film cameras, notably on Kickstarter, are doomed.
On the film side, despite all the negative efforts of Fujifilm, there are more and more good news!
Latest one is ADOX, the German trade mark of Fotoimpex, my entitled shop for anything film. They announced a new low ISO, high resolution black and white film, based on a technical film stock with still lower sensitivity, enhanced by their special techniques.
I might even feel guilty for using my digital camera during my latest trip….
Thanks for stopping by!
Did you just pick up this film?

The smell of a new roll of film is one of the little things that drew me back to using real raw. To me it adds to the pleasure of shooting film, making a more immersive experience.

Stupid, but when I open a new film canister I can’t help but sniffing it….

What I understood from the information provided on the Photrio forum is that this film does not have very high latitude and it should be shot rather similar to the slide film.
But it is a great option especially when ADOX makes it available as a sheet film.

Another thing to pay attention to is it does not have DX codes on the canister.

Aw shucks… no DX codes… but then again I don’t have a camera to read those 😉

Frank, as it’s been nearly another month just thought I’d drop by and see how you’re doing?

Thanks for dropping in, Dan.
No worries, I’m still here. Just not very motivated for the moment. Sometimes life throws too much stuff a you to have time for the essential, photography.
Really missing it more and more but I’ll have to wait a bit. Hopefully by the start of 2019 everything will take it’s place again…
Thanks again for asking! Much appreciated
